How should we say 2010?

Jeff Goldblum: "He was not only a friend and a mentor, but he was also me."

Last Thursday, as you all know, Michael Jackson died. I heard about it on Twitter just after TMZ broke the news, and I sat in front of my computer and the TV for two hours, looking for more information. Twitter comes into its own in these situations - if there's a latest development, you can be sure that someone you're following will tweet it. It's a bit like having 100 people to gossip with - which maybe doesn't sound that appealing to some of you, but considering my line of work, I'm in my element.

Anyway. During all the Michael Jackson Twitter flurry, some hilarious joker set up a fake news page announcing that the actor Jeff Goldblum had also died that night, which turned out to be utter bollocks. And this morning I saw this clip from The Colbert Report, which really tickled me.

I love Jeff Goldblum. Apparently he's dating this very lucky 21-year-old actress. Humph.

In other news, Claire and Hywel's wonderful wedding (did I mention Claire got married?) has been featured on the very well-known (if you're into that kind of thing) wedding blog, Style Me Pretty - here, here, here and here (look out for me looking a bit awkward in the bridesmaid picture). They've described it as a "sweet, sophisticated British wedding" with "chic style" (they add, "Doesn’t it just kill you that even the guests are chic!" - a-thank-you-very-much). The photos are gorgeous, and are by the talented photographer Marianne Taylor. If you're getting married (well, you might be) I know Claire can't recommend her highly enough.

I've got excited all over again about that!

Incidentally, is anyone else a tiny bit disturbed by the fact that Jeff Goldblum's girlfriend looks almost exactly like him?

Creepy. It's like he's dating his daughter. Although not. But slightly. Although not really at all. But some might say it was. Not me, though.

Ooh thanks for the blog-love Hattie! :D

Giggled about the Jeff Goldblum clip yesterday. I'm a bit worried, as I've always fancied him, but have this underlying feeling that he's becoming a little bit creepy in his old age, and yet it still doesn't stop me fancying him. Umm.

Beautiful wedding Photos, it looked like a wonderful day. I really like the slightly subdued and desaturated look Marianne's chosen. The colours found at an event like a wedding can really overload the eyes (photographically) and the look really helps the viewer take in what is actually very beautiful.

As for Jeff and Tania Raymonde, I think he's the lucky one.

Why doesn't Earth Girls Are Easy ever come on telly anymore? If only the lie had lingered long enough for an emergency retrospective season to appear...

Another question, O Newly relentless blogger: I have been asked to write an article for a little magazine about real/Twittertime and what it all means (how innovative!). I have a actual Iranian chum, a bona fide clever IT chum etc and I'm tapping their brains and planning to plug their sites in the course of passing off their wisdom as my own.

If you might be willing to represent the Blog/Twittersphere in light of recent ruminations of the subject, and be able to answer 3-4 email qs within the next weekish, I'd be chuffed. If you can recall/obtain the names, it's name dot name at btopenworld.com.

That wedding looks like a Wedding Story in Vogue Entertaining. Where's the human chaos, misery and sweaty pinkfacedness? How immensely, intimidatingly idyllic. Grats to all happy and picturesque persons involved.

pps sorry if this was sent 15 times; it wouldn't go.

And Marianne - Goldblum is not creepy! I won't hear of it!
